Health Day at USB: come find out how your body and mind are doing and how to take care of them

We invite all employees and students of the University of South Bohemia to Health Day, which will take place in the University Auditorium from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Come and have important health indicators—such as cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, heart rate, BMI, and body fat—measured for free in just a few minutes. You’ll also receive useful information and inspiration on how to better take care of your health in everyday life.

The program also includes practical workshops and physical activities. The time management workshop will help you better organize your time, set priorities, and handle your responsibilities with greater ease. The interactive “Manager’s Warm-up” session offers simple yoga-inspired exercises that promote relaxation, stress reduction, and better sleep—all without special equipment. Come recharge your energy, learn new skills, and boost your physical and mental well-being.

Among further measures aimed at protecting health was the acquisition of 21 automated external defibrillators (AEDs), which USB installed in its key buildings with high foot traffic.

The initiative to equip was led by František Dolák from the Faculty of Health and Social Studies at USB, who has long been dedicated to first aid. As he states: "Automated external defibrillators are an essential tool that can save lives in critical situations. They are a valuable assistant in resuscitation – they guide users step by step and help perform correct procedures. Quick availability of AED significantly increases the chance of successful resuscitation."

The specific location of AED devices and their availability can be found in the national database in the Záchranka application.
