USB Research Awards
The methodology for submission of proposals and the components of the award are laid down in the Rector's Measure setting out the rules for the awarding of honorary degrees, honorary titles, commemorative medals and scientific and pedagogical awards of the USB (R 590).

The Jana Anna Kateřina Zátková Prize
Scientific awards for the results of scientific, research and other creative activities may be awarded in four disciplinary categories divided into categories for academic staff and for students of the USB.
Scientific awards are granted for outstanding results of research activities, including scientific publications or results of applied research (e.g. patents). Student awards can also be given for outstanding bachelor's, master's or doctoral theses.
Subject categories and awards:
- The Zdeněk Veselovský Prize in Natural Sciences, in honour of one of the most important Czech zoologists, who, among other things, worked at the present USB Faculty of Science,
- The Jakub Krčín Prize in Agricultural and Fishery Sciences, in honour of the Regent of Rožmberk and one of the most famous Czech fishermen,
- The Jiří František August Buquoy Prize in Social Sciences, in honour of the Austrian and Czech economist, scientist, writer, entrepreneur and inventor,
- The Robert Sak Prize in Humanities, in honour of the eminent Czech historian who worked, among other things, at the USB Faculty of Education and the USB Faculty of Arts.
The methodology for submission of proposals and the components of the award are laid down in the Rector's Measure setting out the rules for the awarding of honorary degrees, honorary titles, commemorative medals and scientific and pedagogical awards of the USB (R 524).
The award includes a diploma, a graphic certificate and a financial award. The financial award is made to the awarded staff, students or emeritus professors of the USB.
The author of the graphic sheet is the Assoc. Lenka Vojtová Vilhelmová, academic painter.
Award for Popularisation of Science
- The Jana Anna Kateřina Zátková Prize is awarded for an outstanding popularisation work of a monographic nature that brings a selected scientific field closer to a wider readership, or for a series of popularisation articles, media appearances or popularisation lectures that promote science in general or its specific field.
Up to three science popularisation awards may be given each year, regardless of discipline or age category.
The Jana Anna Kateřina Zátková Prize is named in honour of the prominent society official
and fighter for women's rights, co-founder and long-time chairwoman of the České Budějovice Women's Association Ludmila, who, among other things, was involved in promoting women's education.
The award ceremony takes place at the annual opening ceremony of the USB academic year.
