University of South Bohemia supported the Brazilian Fest
🗓️ Date: 10–11 July 2026
Piarist Square in České Budějovice transformed into a place filled with music, dance, color, and Brazilian energy over the two days of the festival. Brazilian Fest attracted hundreds of visitors who enjoyed concerts, dance performances, workshops, and authentic Brazilian gastronomy.
The University of South Bohemia was a proud partner and sponsor of the festival. Supporting events that connect different cultures and create a space for international meetings is one of the values upon which the university has long been built. Every year, it provides a home to hundreds of international students and academics and actively develops international cooperation through its membership in the European University Alliance, KreativEU.
The National Assembly student conference brought volunteers from across the country to the University of South Bohemia
🗓️ Date: 12–14 June 2026
The Vltava 2026 National Assembly was held in the University Aula from 12 to 14 June. Organised by the USB Budweis student association, which is part of the Erasmus Student Network, it was supported by the University of South Bohemia. Volunteers from the Erasmus Student Network from across the Czech Republic, who have long been involved in supporting international mobility and the integration of international students into academic life, gathered in the city.
Over the course of three days, participants evaluated the activities of the student organisation over the past period, discussed its future direction, and made key decisions for the coming year. The programme included the election of a new national leadership team, and the conference provided an opportunity for students from various universities to share valuable experiences and form collaborations.



The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Zambia visited the University of South Bohemia

On 15 May 2026, the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice welcomed the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Zambia, H.E. Mr. Jiří Kyrian. The visit took place in a friendly and informal atmosphere and provided an opportunity to discuss existing cooperation, its further development and the possibilities of support from the diplomatic mission.
The Ambassador met with the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Vladimír Žlábek, and other representatives of the Rectorate and the Faculty of Theology of the University of South Bohemia. The main topic of the meeting was the long-developed cooperation with Zambia, particularly the activities of the Faculty of Theology, which plays a key role in this area. Both the results achieved so far and the prospects for further deepening of the partnership were discussed, especially in the fields of education, science and research, and international mobility.
U.S. Ambassador to the Czech Republic Nicholas Merrick visited the University of South Bohemia and the Biology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences.

U.S. Ambassador to the Czech Republic Nicholas Merrick visited the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice and the Biology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences on Wednesday, May 13. Accompanied by Cultural Attaché Luke Meinzen, he met with Director of the Biology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences Libor Grubhoffer and Rector of the University of South Bohemia Pavel Kozák, who presented the research priorities of their respective institutions as well as their long-standing ties to the United States.
RENDEZ-VOUS À LA FRANÇAISE

Venue: Aula JU, Studentská 1410/23, 370 05, České Budějovice
This large-scale, all-day promotional and educational event will take place in the Aula on 15 April from 9:30–15:00, with the participation of the French ambassador and under the patronage of the mayor of the city of České Budějovice and the governor of the South Bohemian Region.
Various francophone actors are organising the event alongside the Faculty of Arts at University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, the Alliance Française South Bohemia, the French Institute in Prague and the Czech-French Chamber of Commerce, with the aim of conveying the message that French is useful in professional life.
The target audience is secondary school and university students, as well as interested members of the public.
