The management of the University of South Bohemia welcomed the new rector of the University of Technology and Economics in České Budějovice, Marek Vochozka. Together with the USB Rector Pavel Kozák they discussed many possibilities of cooperation between the two universities. One of the points was the strategy for the development of technical study programmes, so that candidates with this focus do not leave South Bohemia for other regions.
"I see room for cooperation in many areas. We need to be open about where we can help each other and where we are in competition. In a number of things we complement each other and we are important for the South Bohemian Region. This is important in communication with key employers in our region. On the other hand, each of our schools has a slightly different mission and development strategy. I see the maintenance of mutual communication and good relations ideally through sports activities and cultural and social events," outlined the USB Rector Pavel Kozák.
Both rectors talked about the possibility of merging the USB and VŠTE hockey teams, mutual derbies or joint sports competitions.
