The new President of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Radomír Pánek, visited the University of South Bohemia

The University of South Bohemia was visited for the first time by the President of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Radomír Pánek, who was appointed to the position by President Petr Pavel on March 13, 2025. The University of South Bohemia has long cooperated with the Academy of Sciences in providing accredited study programs. The Rector of the University of South Bohemia, Pavel Kozák, and the President of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Radomír Pánek, expressed their interest in continuing cooperation in the training of doctoral students.

This is ensured at the University of South Bohemia by the School of Doctoral Studies, which oversees all doctoral study programs at all eight faculties of the university. It was established in January 2025, and its task is to coordinate activities aimed at increasing the quality of doctoral study programs, improving the research skills of students and supervisors, and developing their careers. The Council of the School of Doctoral Studies includes two representatives from the Czech Academy of Sciences.

Rector Pavel Kozák and President Radomír Pánek signed an agreement on cooperation in the implementation of doctoral study programs. The agreement sets out the conditions for doctoral students, their work commitments, and the sharing and use of the results of their research activities. It also commits both institutions, as part of their mutual cooperation, to the protection of intellectual property and regulates other rights and obligations of the University of South Bohemia and the Czech Academy of Sciences in securing doctoral study programs.
