British Ambassador to the Czech Republic Matt Field will speak at the University of South Bohemia

Matthew Robert Field OBE is a British diplomat and, since 2023, the British Ambassador to the Czech Republic. In the Auditorium of the University of South Bohemia, he will speak about his long-standing experience in diplomatic service, about his work as Ambassador to the Czech Republic, and about the fact that diplomacy is not just about formal meetings, but also about constant engagement with the public — and that it affects each and every one of us. How are modern technology and social media changing his work? How can complex diplomatic issues be explained in an open and accessible way? What has he come to love about the Czech Republic, and what does he miss? There will be room for these and other questions, as well as for discussion.

The event is open to university students and staff.
