The first year of the Alumni Festival took place on 17 and 18 October. The event was dedicated to all our alumni, students and employees of the University of South Bohemia. A number of bands performed at the festival, including Epydemye, a band that includes two of our alumni, Lucie Vlasáková and Jan Přeslička.
Other bands were Náhodný výběr, Lex Barker, Deny's partners, Janchi, Pakáš and the Prague band Don Bon. The distinctive singer-songwriter Láska also sang at the festival. The event was not only about music. The accompanying programme was prepared by the Student Union of the University of South Bohemia. It was mainly a food festival, which the union coordinated with the Faculty of Science. The presentation of food from all over the world, for example from Mexico, Ukraine, Germany, Algeria, etc., was prepared by international students. Several stations were set up on the campus where visitors could have a lot of fun. These included a love tree, a photo point, retro games and face painting. The youngest visitors could draw with chalk or catch fish. The accompanying programme also included a cooking show by Josef Nemrava (TOP5 MasterChef Czech Republic) and a yoga class right in the library. A lecture on the topic of nutrition myths was also given by Mgr. Ing. Simona Šimková and a presentation on vegan food supplements was prepared by our graduate Bc. Jana Velhartická.
The weather was also good to us during the festival, so apart from a few drops of rain on Tuesday, everything went ahead in the sunshine and visitors could enjoy the last warmer days of the year.
We would also like to thank the organisers, among others the Faculty of Science of the University of South Bohemia a Student Union of the University of South Bohemia.
Our thanks also go to the event partners:
