1st and 2nd place for beer from FAT USB at the XXXIVth International Beer Festival

On 16–19 April 2024, Litoměřice hosted the XXXIVth International Beer Festival, the most prestigious beer festival in the Czech Republic. It owes its status both to its long tradition and especially to the interest of the breweries themselves, both domestic and foreign.

This year's competition featured 37 different categories covering a wide range of beer styles. A total of 250 breweries from different parts of the world entered, showcasing their unique recipes and traditions. The expert tastings are held with the participation of experts in brewing, food processing and quality certification.

As in the past, the festival was also attended by the Research and Training Microbrewery, which is part of the USB Faculty of Agriculture and Technology. The microbrewery entered a total of four beer samples in three different categories. The decision to participate proved to be extremely successful as we achieved excellent results.

We are especially proud of our success in the INDIA PALE LAGER category, where our beers STŘELA and IRL666 took 1st and 2nd place. The success is the result of the work of our brewers - Ing. Vlastimil Nohejl and under-brewer František Čechmánek, who "brewed out" the recipe of these beers.

Thank you and "God bless".
