Study programme: Rehabilitation B5342

Study course – Rehabilitation-psychosocial care of handicapped children, adults and seniors (full-time and part-time study); Rehabilitation-psychosocial care of handicapped children, adults and seniors (English course)

It allows the graduate to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills in health care, social, legal, humanities and special-pedagogy disciplines. The graduate will acquire qualification for the work of a social worker.

 

Study programme: Nursing B5341

Study course – General Nurse (full-time and part-time study); Nurse (English course)

The course focuses on the modern concept of nursing with an emphasis on an individual approach toward the patient and on healthy life style and disease prevention. The graduates will be authorised to practice the health-care profession without professional supervision. The study is comparable to the educational programs of the European Union, where graduates can find employment in the labour market.

 

Study programme: Midwifery B5349

Study course – Midwife (full-time and part-time study)

Graduates from this course will be able to provide a woman with highly specialized care during a period of health, pregnancy, physiological delivery and post-partum (thanks to their knowledge of midwifery, medical and humanity sciences and the skills gained in practical clinical training). Graduates will be authorised to practice the health-care profession without professional supervision.

 

Study programme: Specialization in Health Care B 5345

Study course – Physiotherapy (full-time study)

The graduate is able and authorized to provide physiotherapy and functional diagnostics in rehabilitation inpatient and outpatient facilities, spa clinics and social care institutions with the aim of reintegrating the persons who are disabled due to illness, injury or congenital defect into active social life. The graduates will be authorised to practice the health-care profession without professional supervision.

 

Study programme: Specialization in Health Care

Study course – Radiology assistant (full-time and part-time study)

By graduating from this course, the student acquires the professional competence to perform the profession of radiology assistant in inpatient and outpatient facilities, in veterinary surgeries and research centres. The graduate is able to provide professional radiological interventions, procedures, techniques and related professional activities including nursing activities related to nuclear medicine interventions and other procedures used in radiotherapy.

 

Study programme: Specialization in Health Care

Study course – Medical laboratory technician (full-time and part-time study)

The graduate is able to perform independent work in clinical laboratories (clinical biochemistry, haematology, immunology, blood transfusion, histology, microbiology, and cellular and molecular genetics) in the analysis of biological material using state-of–the-art methodical techniques, instruments and computer technology. Graduates will be authorised to practice the health-care profession without professional supervision.

 

Study programme: Specialization in Health Care

Study course – Medical rescue worker (full-time study)

Graduates are able to provide specific nursing care in the field of urgent care, acute intake and wherever the lives of patients and the injured are in immediate danger. Graduates will be authorised to practice the health-care profession without professional supervision.

 

Study programme: Specialization in Health Care

Study course – Nutrition therapist (full-time study)

Graduates will be able to work in the field of clinical nutrition in both health and spa and social facilities. They will gain knowledge about the correction of basic nutritional problems, the prevention of diseases and the provision of food for patients of all ages. Graduates will be authorised to practice the health-care profession without professional supervision.

 

Study programme: Public health B 5347

Study course – Public health protection (full-time study)

After completing this course the students can work in state administration in protection and support of public health at Regional Hygiene authorities (authorities of public health protection) in the respective disciplines, e. g. occupational hygiene, children and youth hygiene, nutritional hygiene, general and municipal hygiene, epidemiology and health support, where they carry out state health supervision, risk assessment, education of population towards a healthy life style, etc. Graduates will be authorised to practice the health care profession without professional supervision.

 

Study programme: Civil Protection B2825

Study course – Civil protection with a focus on chemical, biological, radiology and nuclear noxae and explosives (full-time and part-time study)

By completing the bachelor’s degree programme the student acquires the necessary knowledge in crisis management issues, with a focus on emergencies and crisis situations, particularly in connection with the chemical, biological, radiological and explosive noxae. The importance of this field is constantly increasing in light of the danger of natural or industrial disasters, terrorist attacks, religious and political conflicts and particularly with the process of globalization.

 

Study programme: Social Policy and Social Work B6731

Study course – Social work in public administration (full-time and part-time study)

Graduates will find employment particularly in the area of public administration (i. e. in state administration and self-government), specifically in authorities, institutions and organizations like health insurance companies, district social welfare administrations, labour offices, municipal authorities, regional authorities, probation and mediation services, correctional services, the police, etc., but also for example in the area of provision of social services, social counselling, etc.

 

Study programme: Special pedagogy B7506

Study course – Special pedagogy and education (full-time and part-time study)

The aim of this study course is to prepare workers for the field of the helping professions. Graduates will find employment in education, particularly in the field of direct pedagogical work with children with special educational needs, such as tutors, kindergarten teachers or teacher's assistants. In the field of social services, they are qualified to perform the profession of a social worker or social service worker. They can also find employment in state administration or self-government, in non-governmental non-profit organizations focused on humanitarian or charity aid, on prevention of risk behaviour, associations for handicapped citizens, etc.

Master's studies

Study programme: Rehabilitation N5342

Study course – Rehabilitation-psychosocial care of handicapped children, adults and seniors (full time and part-time study)

The aim of the study course is to prepare an erudite social worker with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the system of community based rehabilitation in compliance with the European trends.

 

Study programme: Public health care N5347

Study course – Professional worker in public health protection (full-time study)

Graduates of this study course are entitled to perform the medical profession of a professional worker in public health protection. After the completion of this study programme, graduates will perform activities related to the execution of state supervision and other activities related to public health protection.

 

Study programme: Nursing N5341

Study course – Nursing in selected clinical disciplines (full time and part-time study)

The study programme is subdivided into modules. The student chooses one of the three compulsory modules, i. e. Nursing care in pediatrics, Nursing care in internal medicine and Nursing care in surgery, which then determines the student's professional focus. According to the valid legislation, graduates will acquire the professional competence to provide highly professional nursing care.

 

Study programme: Civil Protection N2825

Study course – Civil emergency preparedness (full-time and part-time study)

The study course includes a set of civil management, planning and control processes and regulations prepared by the administration authorities, bodies, self-governments and specified institutions to deal with emergency and crisis situations. The student can choose either a module focusing on the economic and organizational-health issues related to crisis management, or the radiology-toxicology module focusing on the issues of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive agents.

How to apply

The applicant must register and apply for the study in the bachelor's study program ‘Nursing, specialization Nurse in the following two steps:

1. Registration

By filling in the "Electronic Application Form". When filling in the electronic application form, applicants must proceed according to the instructions on the above-mentioned website, or in the form itself.

2. Application

Applicants must fill in "the Application Form" and send it including relevant attachments to the below mentioned address within the given deadline.

Mandatory attachments of the application form are:

  • Curriculum vitae,
  • A written letter of motivation on the topic "What is your motivation for studying in the field of nursing" - in the range of 1500 characters (including spaces),
  • Copy of passport
  • Official and certified copy of the birth certificate,
  • Officially certified copy of an official document confirming the completion of secondary education with a school-leaving examination or another school leaving equivalent,
  • Confirmation from a general practitioner on the health condition.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for checking nevertheless all documents must be sent by mail afterward with officially certified copies of the high school diploma and a birth certificate according to the Rector’s Ordinance No. 450_On assessing compliance with the requirement of prior education of applicants for admission to studies.

After filling in the electronic application form for studying at FHSS USB, applicants will be registered in the records of FHSS USB. The actual registration of the study application will be carried out only after the applicants submit a completed and hand-signed study application, including all mandatory attachments!

The required knowledge of English is B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Applicants who have submitted all the required materials will be included in the admission process. Within the admission procedures evaluation of all the materials sent will be performed by the committee appointed by the Dean of the Faculty.

The evaluation and admission committee will rank the candidates proposed for admission. The Dean of the faculty has the final decision on the acceptance of an applicant based on the recommendation of the admission committee within 8 days after the admission and the applicants are informed in writing within 30 days on the outcome according to §50 paragraph 5 of the Act on Higher Education.

The instructions concerning the payment of the tuition fee for the first semester will be given to applicants together with the decision about his/her acceptance.

General procedure

Study in the study course in the academic year 2021/2022 will be opened only in the case when at least 10 applicants shall enroll and shall be accepted for the study.

Applicants have the right to appeal against the decision to the Dean of the Faculty. The completed appeal forms must be submitted within 30 days from the date of their delivery. The Dean can grant an application and change her decision; otherwise, she will pass it on to the Rector. The Rector can change the decision of the Dean which was issued contrary to law, internal rules of the university, or with the conditions defined in accordance with § 49, section 1 a 3 of the Act. Nr. 111/98 Coll. Otherwise, he will reject the request and he will confirm the original resolution of the Dean.
