Expertise

I participate in research as part of the Functional Plant Ecology group.

I am a plant ecologist investigating the ecological mechanisms that govern the assembly and functioning of plant communities. My research combines manipulative field and greenhouse experiments with trait-based approaches and quantitative analyses to understand how ecological filtering, plant interactions and biodiversity shape community composition and ecosystem functioning. My work has progressively advanced from studying species pools and community assembly to examining plant competition, intraspecific trait variation and the consequences of realistic biodiversity loss.
