Země živitelka 2025: new partnerships, faculty products presentation, and prestigious award for a young scientist

At the 51st edition of the international agricultural exhibition Země živitelka, the University of South Bohemia showcased selected delicacies and beverages created by the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters and the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology. While hundreds of visitors came to the university's booth to taste fish pâté, soup, or university beer, the university's leadership was forging new collaborations and important partnerships. The rector of the University of South Bohemia, Pavel Kozák, confirmed the deepening of the partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic by signing a Memorandum of Cooperation. Minister Marek Výborný also visited the university booth, where he witnessed the excellent results of our students and scientists both visually and through taste.

The University of South Bohemia's exposition was also sought out by the Minister of the Interior and an alumni of the USB, Vít Rakušan, and we also welcomed the Mayor of České Budějovice and former Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Dagmar Škodová Parmová.

Scientists from the University of South Bohemia, together with the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague and Mendel University in Brno, were guarantors of the SMART FARMING exposition. The most modern systems and technologies in agriculture caught the attention of Prime Minister Petr Fiala.

A significant achievement for the University of South Bohemia is the Minister of Agriculture's award for young scientists. This year's winner is hydrobiologist Lenka Kajgrová, a graduate and research associate of the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters.
