USB representatives presented successful examples of internationalisation at the CEEDUCON 2025 conference

The Central European Education Conference (CEEDUCON) is now in its seventh year, serving as a key platform for discussion on the internationalization of higher education. This year, 900 participants gathered at the O2 Universum. The University of South Bohemia was represented by vice-deans and staff from the international relations departments of all eight faculties, as well as the Rector's Office. One of the main thematic areas was "Intelligent and sustainable international cooperation", to which USB representatives Prof. Ivana Kutá Smatanová (Vice-Dean for Internal Evaluation and International Relations of the Faculty of Science, USB) and Prof. Vladimír Žlábek (Vice-Rector for International Relations of USB) contributed with a shared lecture. They presented examples of good practice in building international cooperation at USB and presented successful examples of internationalization of our university. In her plenary lecture, Prof. Kutá Smatanová focused on cooperation with European scientific societies. She described the FEBS practical courses on macromolecule crystallisation, which she presented as cutting-edge educational events for students and young scientists from all over the world, combining theoretical lectures with intensive practical exercises and promoting scientific excellence and international networking. At the end of her lecture, she presented examples of how traditional activities of this type naturally complement new formats, such as the New Trends in Bioscience symposium, organized under the banner of the KreativEU alliance of European universities, of which the University of South Bohemia is a part. This was also a follow-up to the introductory part of the lecture, in which Professor Žlábek introduced the University of South Bohemia and the KreativEU Alliance itself.
After six years, the established conference has moved from its original name CZEDUCON to the new name CEEDUCON (Central European Education Conference), which better describes its international scope and ambition to become a Central European platform supporting innovation and cooperation in education.
