Visit of IPB University Bogor Representative to FFPW USB Strengthens Newly Established Cooperation

On 9–10 July 2026, the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters of the University of South Bohemia (FFPW USB) welcomed Dr. Eva Anggraini, S.Pi., M.Si. from IPB University Bogor, Indonesia. Dr. Anggraini works at the university’s rectorate in the Office of Global Connectivity and included FFPW USB in her European business trip. Her visit followed the Memorandum of Understanding, signed in spring this year between FROV USB and the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences of IPB University Bogor.

During her visit, Dr. Anggraini toured the faculty’s research and teaching facilities in České Budějovice and Vodňany. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Ján Regenda from the Institute of Aquaculture and Protection of Waters. In Vodňany, Assoc. Prof. Martin Bláha joined the programme and, together with Dr. Regenda, introduced the guest to the Experimental Fish Culture Facility.

This visit represents the first step towards developing closer cooperation between the two institutions. As a follow-up activity, representatives of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences of IPB University Bogor have been invited to visit FFPW USB in autumn this year. We believe that this newly established partnership will create valuable opportunities for both institutions in the fields of education and research and will lead to successful joint projects.

Indonesia ranks among the world's leading producers of fish from both capture fisheries and aquaculture. IPB University Bogor is recognised as one of Indonesia’s leading agricultural and technological universities. Its Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences offers five study programmes and educates more than one thousand students.

At the conclusion of her visit, Dr. Anggraini also met with Prof. Vladimír Žlábek, Vice-Rector of the University of South Bohemia for International Relations. During the meeting, the representatives discussed the structure and activities of both universities and explored opportunities for further cooperation in education, research, and international mobility programmes.
