USB students participate in international conference on living cultural heritage

Several dozen USB students participated in the online networking conference "Living Heritage: Knowledge, Identity, Practice" on 27 and 28 November. The event was organised by the University of Trnava as part of the university alliance KreativEU.

The online broadcast took place at all faculties of the USB, and not only students but also staff participated. Physically, three academics from the Faculty of Education, Department of Geography, Vojtěch Blažek, Jiří Rypl and Petra Karvánková travelled to Trnava to present their paper New approaches to promoting heritage in the area of the former Iron Curtain.

The conference focused on the topic of living cultural heritage and its importance for identity and practice in the contemporary world. Students followed expert presentations on the preservation of traditions, their connection with modern technologies, and the role of universities in promoting cultural heritage. The programme offered inspiring examples of how traditions can be understood not only as a historical value but also as a source of innovation and social development.

Participation in such international activities broadens students' horizons and enables them to better understand current trends in the European academic environment. The provision of online streaming is unique in the KreativEU alliance, and our university will continue these activities.
