USB is among the 150 top-ranked universities in the world in life sciences research

University of South Bohemia ranked in the 101st–150th band worldwide in the field of Plant & Animal Science in the current NTU Rankings 2026 by subject, placing 2nd among Czech universities. It also achieved a strong result in Environment/Ecology, where it ranked 293rd in the world and 2nd in the Czech Republic. In Biology & Biochemistry, it placed in the 401st–450th band and 3rd among Czech universities.

NTU Rankings evaluate the research performance of universities exclusively. They are based on publication output, short-term and long-term citation impact, average citations, the h-index, the number of highly cited papers, and the share of articles published in leading academic journals. The results therefore reflect not only the quantity of scientific work, but also its quality and international scholarly impact.

The NTU Ranking (officially the Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities), published by National Taiwan University, enjoys a high standing in the world of academic rankings and the status of a respected, purely objective tool. In the academic community, it is recognized as one of the most reliable indicators of universities' actual scientific and research performance.
