The USB campus is becoming a greener and more sustainable place to study, work, and relax

The major transformation of the USB campus is in full swing. We bring you an update on what is currently taking place in the heart of our university.

Currently, the most visible work is at the site of the retention basin, whose concrete structure is already complete. In the next phase, a wetland with suitable plant species will be created, which will naturally integrate into the rainwater management system while supporting biodiversity on campus.

Construction of a storage reservoir near the Rectorate is also underway, which will likewise serve to facilitate more efficient rainwater utilization. Construction work is also taking place on the corridor between the dormitories and the university canteen. A green roof planted with suitable regional species will be installed on the corridor in the upcoming period. Builders have also begun work on a modern sports ground, which will expand opportunities for sports and leisure activities.

Out of the total project budget of approximately CZK 99.8 million, works valued at around CZK 7 million have been completed so far by the contractor Gardenline s.r.o.

The overall revitalization of the USB campus is proceeding on schedule, with completion expected by late summer 2027.

The University of South Bohemia would like to thank everyone affected by the campus transformation for their patience and tolerance during the ongoing construction works.
