The University of South Bohemia now supports applicants for prestigious ERC grants

Supporting science and innovation is a key part of the European Union’s strategic agenda, aiming to ensure its self-sufficiency and competitiveness. One of the tools the EU uses to achieve this are the European Research Council (ERC) grants. Unlike most other European grants, these are targeted directly at individual researchers with an excellent CV and a research plan that pushes the current boundaries of knowledge.

The University of South Bohemia believes that our scientists are already conducting excellent research and therefore have the potential to obtain one of the ERC grants. For this reason, the university has launched a two-year support program for applicants for these grants. Interested individuals can benefit from the advisory services of the newly established EU Desk, and additionally they can apply for financial bonuses in two phases.

Firstly, the university supports the very preparation of the ERC grant application and the associated costs (for example, consulting and advisory services). The second level of bonuses is available to successful applicants, i.e. those who win an ERC grant. The relevant faculty will decide exactly how these funds will be used. The intention is for these funds to reward the successful researchers and the team of people who cooperated on preparing the application.

More information can be found on the EU Desk website.
