The University of South Bohemia has climbed in a prestigious global ranking. In ecology, it is among the top 150

The University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice is celebrating a significant achievement in the new Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2026 by ShanghaiRanking. In Ecology, USB has moved up into the 101st–150th band of the world's best universities.

It also achieved excellent results in Agricultural Sciences, where it ranks 151st–200th, and in Biological Sciences, where it placed in the 401st–500th band.

The greatest cause for celebration is ecology, where USB improved compared to the previous edition of the ranking. The result also demonstrates the university's strong international standing in the natural sciences.

GRAS is published by ShanghaiRanking, the organisation behind the well-known Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). Together with QS and Times Higher Education, ARWU is among the most important global university rankings.
