The Rector of the Ukrainian Podillia State University visited USB

Based on the previously established cooperation between the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice and Podillia State University (Ukraine), its rector, Prof. Alla Ivanovska, paid a personal visit to České Budějovice. At a meeting with USB Rector Pavel Kozák, Vice-Rector for International Relations Vladimír Žlábek, Dean of the Faculty of Science František Vácha, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology Petr Bartoš, and Vice-Deans Stanislav Kraft (Faculty of Education) and Vladimír Kadlec (Faculty of Economics), they discussed opportunities for cooperation between the two institutions. Podillia State University is a university focused on the natural sciences, agriculture, technology, veterinary medicine, teacher education, and economics. The rector expressed interest in instruction primarily by academics from the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology at USB. Given the complex situation in Ukraine, they would like to take advantage of this opportunity remotely through online lectures and courses delivered by USB experts.

The meeting between the leadership of the two universities was facilitated by Viktoriya Levytska, a research fellow at the Biology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences and at the Faculty of Science, USB, who specializes in parasitology in the Czech Republic.

Despite the complicated and unstable situation in Ukraine, Podillia State University aims to develop international contacts, joint research, and educational activities. The University of South Bohemia will continue to support Ukrainian students and academics.
