The Night of Scientists will celebrate its 20th anniversary

Wealth belongs only to the society that makes use of the wealth of the mind. A society that treats its cultural and natural riches wisely and employs technology for its development. Join us to discover the hidden treasures of science in all their forms!

The last Friday in September will once again be reserved for the Night of Scientists, the largest outreach event of its kind. A diverse program for all generations will feature a record of at least 135 institutions in 73 cities. As always, visitors at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice can look forward to interactive experiments, thrilling screenings, workshops, and lectures packed with surprising discoveries. All of this will be framed by the theme Wealth on Friday, September 26. With this theme, the organizers are also commemorating the 700th anniversary of the minting of the first Bohemian gold coins, which brought unprecedented growth and prosperity to the Czech lands. A commemorative tourist stamp marking the 20th anniversary will also be available at the University of South Bohemia.

This year’s Czech Night of Scientists is again part of European Researchers’ Night, a Europe-wide initiative supported by the European Union with the goal of connecting science and society and sparking young people’s interest in science. The European Researchers’ Night takes place in 23 countries, and the Czech Night of Scientists is by far the largest in scale.

You can find what we’ve planned in České Budějovice in the program HERE. Admission is free.
