The KreativEU Alliance celebrated its first anniversary

On Tuesday, 13 January, a joint European event was held to mark the first anniversary of the KreativEU Alliance, symbolically connecting partner universities across Europe. The celebration took the form of a live online broadcast.
The launch of KreativEU Radio, which is intended to serve as a new communication platform for the alliance to promote the sharing of ideas, experiences, and creative outputs, was part of the celebratory programme. The broadcast also included a recording of the first episode of the podcast, prepared by the University of South Bohemia, which introduced the University's involvement in the Alliance and presented its activities from the perspective of students and staff.
At the University of South Bohemia, the celebration was complemented by a flag-raising ceremony of the KreativEU alliance. The flag was hoisted by the Rector of the University of South Bohemia, Pavel Kozák, accompanied by the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Vladimír Žlábek, the KreativEU project coordinator, Lucie Jeroušková, and several university employees. This symbolic act expressed USB's belonging to the European academic space and the common vision of the Alliance. During the online part of the programme, presentations were also made by representatives of the alliance's management, who summarised the first year of cooperation, presented the results to date, and outlined the future direction of KreativEU in the field of education, research, cultural heritage, and innovation.

What lies ahead this year

This year, students and employees of the University of South Bohemia can look forward to a number of interesting events, not only on campus but also at partner institutions within the KreativEU alliance or in the online environment.
Already in March, a hackathon will take place at USB, for which students can apply until the end of January via the application form

In April, the second PhD Colloquium will take place, providing PhD students with an opportunity to present their research activities. The event is open to all interested academics, with applications opening in February.

A five-day international conference, Ecocultural Heritage - Research & Education, is planned for October for USB students and staff. Attendance will be free for university members.

Together with its associated partners, KreativEU, the South Bohemian Museum in České Budějovice, and the National Heritage Institute in České Budějovice, the international conference "Sword and Man 2" will also be held. The KreativEU Alliance is also supporting the cross-border conference KreATivita & InovaCZe, aimed at linking creativity, innovation, and international cooperation.

In addition to these events, the KreativEU Alliance partners will also offer conferences, summer schools, workshops, and webinars throughout the year, including in the framework of the newly established Centre of Excellence in Digital Education and Artificial Intelligence and the KreativEU Career Centre.
Up-to-date information on individual events and opportunities for involvement will be continuously published on the USB website and on the KreativEU Alliance website.

The KreativEU - Knowledge & Creativity European University Alliance brings together European universities with the common goal of developing international cooperation, promoting student and staff mobility, and creating innovative education and research projects. The first anniversary was thus not only a celebration of achievements to date, but also a confirmation of ambitions for the years to come.
