The Israeli Ambassador visited the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters of the University of South Bohemia

The Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters of the University of South Bohemia was visited by the Israeli Ambassador Amir Weissbrod. He was accompanied by Member of Parliament Jan Bartošek, and the guests were welcomed at the faculty by the Rector of the University of South Bohemia, Pavel Kozák.
The visit program began at the Genetic Fisheries Center, where the Ambassador toured the breeding facilities and expressed interest in the conditions of fish farming as well as in gentle methods of obtaining caviar without killing the fish. This was followed by a visit to the Laboratory of Environmental Chemistry and Biochemistry, where the issue of water pollution was discussed.
During the tours, the Ambassador also showed interest in the motivation of individual researchers and asked about the experiences of colleagues who had previously completed postdoctoral stays in Israel.
The visit continued with a meeting with representatives of the faculty, also attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Tomáš Policar. The Director of the Research Institute of Fish Culture and Hydrobiology of FFPW USB, Tomáš Randák, presented the faculty and its current research topics, placing particular emphasis on the faculty's activities in the field of water management and cooperation with practice. The discussion also touched on opportunities for study and student exchanges between the University of South Bohemia and Israeli institutions, and an invitation to a conference in Israel was extended.
The meeting was accompanied by a reception featuring fish specialties from the Processing Unit and Shop with Aquaculture Products of FFPW USB.
The visit confirmed mutual interest in deepening cooperation between the University of South Bohemia and Israeli partners, both in the scientific and student spheres.
