On Thursday, 19 October 2023, the ceremonial premises of the České Budějovice Town Hall gave a worthy backdrop for the ceremonial Scientific Board meeting of the Faculty of Education of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, which was held on the occasion of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the faculty. This important event was attended by academic officials of all faculties of the University of South Bohemia and some pedagogical faculties of the Czech Republic. Important milestones in the history of the school, as well as visions in the education and training of future teachers were presented in her speech by the dean, doc. RNDr. Helena Koldová, Ph.D. Bohumil Jiroušek, PhD, Rector of the University of South Bohemia, then spoke about the broader context and background in the development of South Bohemian higher education.
An important part of the programme of the Scientific Council was the awarding of personalities whose activities were or still are significantly connected with the development of the faculty.

Another ceremonial part of the programme of the Scientific Board meeting was the presentation of the Miroslav Papáček Prize. It is awarded for an outstanding social contribution of an academic employee of the Faculty of Education and for an outstanding social contribution of a student of the Faculty of Education. It may be awarded for an outstanding performance in related scientific disciplines, published or carried out in a given calendar year.
This year, the Miroslav Papáček Prize was awarded to:

for many years of outstanding social contribution in terms of implementation and support of the reform of informatics education in Czech schools,
prof. RNDr. Pavel Pech, CSc.
for many years of outstanding scientific work in geometry and didactics of mathematics,
Simona VORLÍČKOVÁ
for promoting student engagement and the development of academic culture of FED USB.
At the end of the festive program, Ukrainian and Roma pupils from the Nová Primary School in České Budějovice performed. The words from their final song could become a message to the USB Faculty of Education in the years to come: The story does not end, we go on!
The evening concert in the České Budějovice theatre was the culmination of the whole festive day. An interesting idea was to address former graduates of the faculty, who currently work as choirmasters of choirs and music groups. Both the Medvíďata from Český Krumlov, the Pramendík graduate choir from the J. V. Jirsík Gymnasium, the clarinet quartet from Prachatice and last but not least the Vox novus women's choir contributed to the great music experience.
We wish the Faculty of Education of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice all the best in the years to come!
