The budget of the University of South Bohemia received unanimous support from the Academic Senate

At its meeting on 20 May 2026, the Academic Senate of the University of South Bohemia unanimously approved the budget of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice for the year 2026. On behalf of the entire Senate, the Chair of the Academic Senate, Petr Dvořák thanked the Rector of USB, Pavel Kozák, for the transparent setup of processes in the preparation and discussion of the university's budget, and the Bursar of USB, Michal Hojdekr, for the high level of professionalism in compiling the budget as well as in presenting it to the members of the Academic Senate.

The meeting of the Academic Senate of USB was also attended by a guest — Dagmar Škodová Parmová, Mayor of the Statutory City of České Budějovice. She presented the senators with an overview and perspectives of mutual cooperation between the city and the university. In her address, she emphasised that the University of South Bohemia is an important partner in the development of České Budějovice as a modern university and innovation hub that attracts young people and supports both the economy and the development of society. The cooperation between the two institutions is long-standing and takes place across a number of areas — from supporting education, research and the popularisation of science, through the involvement of students in internships at city organisations, to joint projects funded from national and European sources. Investments in infrastructure around the university campuses and cooperation on cultural, social and international activities also play a significant role. As was noted during the meeting, the partnership between the city and the university contributes to the quality of life in the city and to its long-term sustainable development.
