The Rwandan Ambassador visited the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology of the USB

On Friday, 21 November 2025, the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice welcomed His Excellency Dr Richard Masozera, Ambassador of Rwanda to the Czech Republic. The aim of his visit was to strengthen mutual relations and discuss future cooperation in education, research and innovation, with a particular focus on agricultural sciences and modern technologies.

The programme began with a meeting with the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Prof. Vladimír Žlábek. This was followed by a visit to the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology, where the Ambassador met with the faculty leadership, as well as Rwandan students enrolled primarily in doctoral study programs. The discussions focused on the university’s current activities related to cooperation with African institutions and on opportunities to develop new partnerships with universities in Rwanda.

Both parties identified concrete opportunities for further collaboration, including joint research projects, educational programmes, and exchanges of students and academic staff. The Embassy of Rwanda also expressed its readiness to support the development of a new centre of excellence focused on agricultural innovation, which carries strong potential for long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation.

The final part of the visit took place at the Department of Technology and Cybernetics. The Ambassador was introduced to the department's research activities and viewed selected outcomes of applied research in modern and precision agriculture. He was presented with technologies used in intensive plant and animal production, including solutions based on automation, sensor systems and elements of artificial intelligence, as well as implementations in autonomous field robots and unmanned systems.
