Rector of the University of South Bohemia Pavel Kozák and Minister of Agriculture Marek Výborný signed a key partnership

The University of South Bohemia has deepened its valuable collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic. At the Země živitelka, agricultural exhibition, Rector of the University of South Bohemia, Pavel Kozák, and Minister of Agriculture, Marek Výborný, signed a memorandum that paves the way for a closer bond between academia and practice and confirms a joint effort in educating qualified professionals. The dynamic development of agricultural sectors necessitates the exchange of information in the fields of science, research, and innovation. In collaboration, both parties will focus on environmental challenges and sustainable solutions.
"The University of South Bohemia has a long-standing collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture in areas of research, legislation, legal matters, and consultancy. This is especially true in fields such as fisheries and water management. Currently, there is a growing demand for technically educated individuals in traditional economic sectors. Agricultural technologies are developing at a rapid pace, and we are responding to these trends by offering students new technically-focused study programs that truly align with market needs. Collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture is a key partnership for our university, enabling us to advance the preparation of quality and in-demand specialists," commented Rector of the University of South Bohemia, Pavel Kozák, on the signing of the memorandum.
Specifically, this means that students will be able to complete internships directly at the ministry's workplaces, while ministry experts will become involved in teaching at the university.
"The Ministry of Agriculture will offer students from the University of South Bohemia the opportunity for internships at its workplaces, our experts will participate in supervising final theses and will actively collaborate in educational events such as seminars, workshops, and conferences. Together, we will seek topics that have the potential to bring innovations and practical solutions for the sustainable development of our sector," said Minister of Agriculture Marek Výborný.
The University of South Bohemia thus joins the ranks of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague and Mendel University in Brno, forming a trio of universities with which the Ministry of Agriculture closely collaborates.
