USB beer and other faculty products were a hit at Czech Food Expo

The Faculty of Agriculture and Technology of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice is a long-established exhibitor at the national food trade fair Czech Food Expo. This year was no exception, with the faculty's stand available to visit in pavilion T1 at the České Budějovice exhibition centre.

At the stand, visitors could purchase and sample products made at the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology and the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters. The flagship product was, as tradition dictates, Čtyrák beer from the faculty brewery, which was established in 2016 in cooperation with the national enterprise Budějovický Budvar. The beer is crafted by brewmaster Vlastimil Nohejl, a graduate of FAT USB, and regularly receives recognition at tasting competitions.

Visitors could also purchase products developed at the Department of Food Biotechnologies and Quality of Agricultural Products. Its staff has long been dedicated to improving the quality of food products, for example, by adjusting recipes or enriching products with health-beneficial substances, including antioxidants.

During the fair, the stand was visited by a delegation led by Minister of Agriculture Martin Šebestyán and Food Ombudsman Jindřich Fialka. The stand was also visited by the Mayor of České Budějovice, Dagmar Škodová Parmová.

We thank all visitors to our stand and hope you enjoyed the products you purchased. We look forward to meeting you again. A short report from the stand can be found HERE.
