The Faculty of Economics at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, together with the Technical University Amberg-Weiden, has launched the international project MIND – Managerial Intelligence for Navigating Decision-Making. The three-year project is funded by the Interreg Bavaria–Czechia 2021–2027 programme and focuses on innovating higher education in the field of managerial decision-making.
Why was the project launched?
Companies in the Czech-Bavarian border region are increasingly facing a shortage of managers capable of making effective decisions under conditions of uncertainty, time pressure and a rapidly changing working environment. At the same time, there is a growing need to connect higher education with real-world business practice and prepare students for the challenges of modern management.
The MIND project therefore introduces a new approach to teaching that combines real managerial situations from small and medium-sized enterprises with modern educational methods and digital technologies.
Who are the project partners?
The lead partner is the Technical University Amberg-Weiden in Germany. The Czech partner is the Faculty of Economics at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, specifically its Department of Management. The two universities will jointly develop educational content, conduct research and organise workshops for students and academic staff.
What will the project deliver?
The project’s main outcome will be a new university course, Managerial Decision-Making, that will give students the opportunity to address authentic managerial situations drawn from Czech and Bavarian companies. These situations will be analyzed and transformed into structured decision-making frameworks and interactive virtual reality scenarios (VRRNS).
The project will also develop twenty scenarios based on companies’ real-world experiences, organize joint Czech-Bavarian workshops, and involve approximately 200 students in educational activities.
Why is the project important?
The MIND project will help enhance the quality of higher education and better prepare graduates for managerial practice. Students will gain experience in making decisions in realistic situations, develop their analytical, digital and intercultural competencies, and become better prepared for careers in companies operating in the Czech-Bavarian region.
The project will also strengthen long-term cooperation between universities and businesses, promote the exchange of experience between Czechia and Bavaria, and contribute to the development of innovative forms of higher education.
