Make and Taste Czech Food! – Summer school of food production 2025

The annual Summer School of Food Production, titled "Make and Taste Czech Food" took place from June 16 to 20, 2025, with 15 students participating from universities in Slovenia, Slovakia, Romania, and Spain. Over five days, they experienced the production of traditional Czech food products—ranging from steamed cheeses, sausages, and fruit yogurt ice creams to brewing beer.

The students were divided into three groups and rotated among the various production stations during the first three days (Monday to Wednesday).

On Thursday morning, the students attended a professional excursion to the national brewery Budweiser Budvar, where they learned interesting facts about beer production and its history. In the afternoon, they visited the historic town of Český Krumlov, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Friday was dedicated to a final summary of the entire school and sensory analysis. Students tasted and evaluated their products. There was also a tasting of Czech non-alcoholic beers. At the end, all participants received a certificate of course completion and a small gift.

The students completed the summer school with enthusiasm and great interest. The program allowed them not only to gain practical experience in food production but also to discover the cultural and gastronomic richness of the Czech Republic.
