Huge success at the Czech University Games: Representatives of the University of South Bohemia won 14 medals!

The University of South Bohemia has confirmed that its students excel not only in lecture halls but also on the sports field. From this year’s Czech University Games, USB representatives are bringing home a fantastic collection of 14 medals, dominated by gold and silver.
This achievement is all the more valuable considering that last year the university team managed to win only two silver medals. This year’s progress is therefore truly exceptional.
Overall medal tally:
- 5× Gold
- 7× Silver
- 2× Bronze
Faculty of Education dominates the field
The clear driving force behind the university delegation was the Faculty of Education, whose students secured an incredible 12 medal finishes. The absolute sensation of the tournament was the outstanding winning streak of brothers Daniel and Martin Drábek in karate, perfectly complemented by swimmer Jiří Václavík.

Gold and silver also for the Faculties of Science and Economics
Other faculties also made their mark, particularly in athletic disciplines.
- Faculty of Science: An outstanding performance came from Tomáš Jelínek, who remained unbeaten in the high jump and secured a fantastic gold medal for the university.
- Faculty of Economics: Another excellent result was achieved by Andrea Nikodemová, who won a silver medal in the women’s 1500 m race in strong competition.
