Gaudeamus Brno 2026: Tens of thousands of visitors – and USB was there!

How did the 32nd edition of the country's largest higher education fair look from the perspective of the University of South Bohemia? What did prospective students ask about most often?

Hundreds of secondary school students who are thinking about where to go after their school-leaving exams visited the University of South Bohemia stand at the Brno Exhibition Centre. Representatives of all eight USB faculties were happy to advise them. The university was represented in Brno by a joint team made up of members of the outreach team, students from individual faculties and marketing staff.

There was interest in all faculties and their study programmes. Secondary school students most often asked about studying psychology at the Faculty of Education, various study programmes at the Faculty of Science, and healthcare programmes at the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences.

"Some secondary school students already know what they want and are interested in their chosen field in detail. Others are still finding their way and exploring their options. We tried to help them choose and guide them according to their preferences," said Petra Mahrová, head of the USB delegation at Gaudeamus.

Applicants were also interested in what life at the University of South Bohemia is like outside lectures. At the stand, we talked about accommodation options, student life on campus and student clubs.
