Doctoral students connected by PhD Colloquium: they discuss cultural heritage and contemporary research

The 2nd PhD Colloquium – Cultural Heritage in Dialogue of Doctoral Research has begun at the University of South Bohemia, a three-day interdisciplinary meeting focused on connecting cultural heritage, current research, and academic practice. The event creates space for dialogue across disciplines, sharing experiences, and developing professional and transferable skills.
The opening day, Wednesday, April 22nd, was dedicated to expert programs, lectures, and workshops focused on, for example, cultural heritage, Open Science & Open Data, doctoral students' rights in the European Union, time management in academic environments, and well-being and mental health. The day concluded with informal networking, which provided opportunities to get acquainted and establish contacts for future joint research projects, including within the KreativEU Seed Funding Projects Call.
Student presentations of doctoral research will follow on Thursday and Friday, when doctoral students from the University of South Bohemia and partner foreign institutions will present their projects.
The colloquium is accompanied by the Vice-Rector for Studies, Doc. Renata Malátová: "I am pleased that we are managing to create a space where doctoral students from various disciplines and countries can meet, share their research experiences, and establish new professional contacts. The PhD Colloquium shows that doctoral research has great social significance and that cultural heritage can today be understood as an inspiring topic across the humanities, natural sciences, and technical disciplines."
The event will run until April 24th and it is also possible to join online via MS Teams.
