On Wednesday 1 June 2022, the Deputy Minister of Education, Prof. Jaroslav Miller, visited the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. The purpose of the visit was a presentation of the forthcoming amendment to the Higher Education Act regarding doctoral studies. The introductory presentation was followed by a discussion with the participating representatives of the faculties and the management of USB. It shows that USB is well prepared for the upcoming changes, as the efficiency and internationalisation of doctoral studies at USB, although not satisfactory, is well above the Czech average. The imaginary starting line is thus quite favourable for our University. The management of the USB and the faculties are intensively preparing for these changes in cooperation with the Czech Academy of Sciences with which USB cooperates very closely in the field of research and doctoral studies.
