The Study in Czechia delegation, which also included representatives from the University of South Bohemia, spent five days focused on higher education at the APAIE 2026 trade fair and conference in Hong Kong (23–27 February 2026). The event took place in a key Indo-Pacific region – the region of the future. It is precisely here that it becomes clear that if Czechia wants to keep pace with the world, there is no time to waste.
At the Study in Czechia initiative's national stand, ten Czech universities met with existing partners and established new contacts with universities from strategic countries such as South Korea, Australia, Japan, and Taiwan. The University of South Bohemia was represented by Eliška Klimešová and Alexandra Soukupová from the USB International Relations Office. The conference section of this year's event confirmed why the participation of Czech universities is crucial. AI and new technologies are transforming education from teaching methods through interdisciplinarity of fields and research to the recruitment of global talent. A number of countries and local universities, including those from Hong Kong, are already incorporating these changes into their study plans and internationalization strategies.
