USB joins the Joint statement of European University Alliances

The University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice has co-signed the joint statement "For an explicit recognition of European University Alliances as pillars of Europe's competitiveness, sovereignty and skills". It was signed on behalf of USB, a member of the KreativEU alliance, by Rector prof. Ing. Pavel Kozák, Ph.D.

The statement was signed by 261 institutions from 30 European countries. It calls on the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament to explicitly acknowledge the role of the alliances in the upcoming 2028–2034 Multiannual Financial Framework and in the European Competitiveness Fund.

The signatories point out that the alliances reduce fragmentation in European higher education, connect regional innovation ecosystems, and advance the free circulation of knowledge and innovation - the Fifth Freedom of the Single Market.
