About event

A generously conceived all-day promotional and educational event will take place with the participation of the French ambassador and under the patronage of the Mayor of České Budějovice and the Governor of the South Bohemian Region in the Aula of the University of South Bohemia on April 15. The event is co-organized by various actors of the Francophone community, including the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice and the French Alliance South Bohemia, the French Institute in Prague, and the Czech-French Chamber of Commerce, with the aim of conveying the message about the usefulness of French in professional life. The target audience includes secondary school students and university students, as well as interested members of the general public.

Following the ceremonial opening, with the participation of distinguished guests at 9:30, plenary presentations will take place in the morning on the possibilities of studying French at the University of South Bohemia, opportunities for secondary school or university mobility, and opportunities for studying in France in general. In a panel discussion, interesting speakers will present, including those who have linked their careers to French, including graduates of the Institute of Romance Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy.

The participating companies that recruit employees with knowledge of French will briefly introduce themselves in plenary, and in the afternoon, will offer participants the opportunity to familiarize themselves with their operations and available job positions at their promotional stands. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in practically oriented workshops led by experienced professionals, including a simulated job interview.
