Earth Day, which we commemorate annually on April 22, is an opportunity to reflect on the state of the environment and our impact on the planet. The faculties of the University of South Bohemia have prepared a program focused on ecology, sustainability, and nature conservation for this occasion. The aim of the events is to inspire responsible behavior towards nature and our surroundings. Come and get involved, draw inspiration, and become part of positive change – even a small step by each of us can have a big impact on the future of our planet.
The faculties of the University of South Bohemia have prepared the following program for this year:
Photo Contest for USB Students on the Theme "My Place on Earth" (Faculty of Theology)
On the occasion of Earth Day (April 22), the Faculty of Theology announces a PHOTO CONTEST for all USB students and employees.
Stop. Look around.
Where do you feel good?
In nature?
On a balcony with a book?
In your favorite café?
In a place where you meditate, create, or simply are?
What do you need to do?
1. Take a photo of a place where you feel good on Earth.
2. Add a short quote or sentence that captures your feeling.
(For example: "Here I find peace again." / "Through music I feel that I am alive." / "My Earth. My place.")
3. Send the photograph in the highest possible resolution to the email:
Submission deadline: April 20
Photographs will appear on the Facebook and Instagram of the Faculty of Theology at USB and will be included in a draw for valuable prizes!
1,000 Steps for the Planet (Faculty of Health and Social Studies)
A symbolic walk along the river organized by students of the Faculty of Health and Social Studies at USB on the occasion of Earth Day, combining care for personal health with care for our planet. There will also be two thematic stops along the route: blood pressure measurement and healthy nutrition.

Travel Differently: Small Steps, Big Impact (Faculty of Economics)
During the program, you will learn how to travel sustainably, gain practical tips, and find out what is and isn't sustainable travel. What kind of traveler are you – an eco-traveler, a comfort tourist, or perhaps an Instagram traveler? A prepared quiz will reveal this to you.
