OUR EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES

The International Relations Office regularly organises events to promote internationalisation and raise awareness of opportunities to study and undertake internships abroad. It also participates in annual conferences focused on higher education abroad.

Events organized by the International Relations Office:

• Orientation week

Orientation week is a week-long event held at the beginning of each semester for all new exchange students. During this week, we help students familiarise themselves with the university and campus, register for dormitory housing and take care of any necessary administrative and academic matters. An introduction to Czech culture and language is also a key part of the programme with Czech student volunteers from the Erasmus Student Network USB Budweis playing a major role in this.

• StuduJU a cestuJU

This event, organized regularly in October and April by the International Relations Office, is open to all USB students interested in studying or undertaking an internship abroad. Throughout the day, students have the opportunity to visit partner information booths and learn more about opportunities to study abroad. At the same time, the event features firsthand accounts from students who have already had this experience, so those interested can hear what a stay abroad might be like, what to expect, and how to prepare. The International Relations Office, together with the faculty coordinators, is available all day to provide necessary information or personal consultations.

• Erasmus Days

Erasmus Days is an international event that celebrates the Erasmus+ program worldwide. During these days, people from all over the world get involved either by participating in or organizing various events that celebrate the opportunities and projects offered by the Erasmus+ program. The event attracts not only students, teachers, and professionals, but also the general public to celebrations that promote the many benefits of the program. The University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice cannot miss out on these celebrations and participates every year with various events and activities. 

• Welcome back

This is an informal event organized by the International Relations Office at the beginning of the semester for students returning from studying abroad or an internship under the Erasmus+ program. During this informal gathering, students have the opportunity to share their experiences and stories with others, reliving the unforgettable memories of their time on the program.

Events in which the International Relations Office participates:

• Ceeducon (Central European Conference on Internationalisation of Higher Education) 

An international conference (former known as Czeducon) held in the Czech Republic that focuses on strengthening global cooperation, strategy and innovation in higher education. It brings together university representatives, staff from international offices, alumni, experts, and national agencies to exchange knowledge, best practices, and insights on key topics in the areas of internationalization, inclusion, partnerships and mobility. 

• EAIE conference

The European Association for International Education (EAIE) is an organization whose primary goal is to promote international higher education in Europe and around the world. The International Relations Office represents the University of South Bohemia at the conference every year as part of the Study in Czechia initiative, alongside other Czech universities. During the conference, participants have the opportunity to attend lectures on a wide variety of topics presented by professionals from around the world; however, a particularly important aspect of the event is meeting with partner universities, strengthening existing relationships, and establishing new contacts and collaborations.
