Prof. PaedDr. Iva Stuchlíková, CSc. works at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Education, University of South Bohemia. From 1998 to 2021 she headed the joint Department of Pedagogy and Psychology. In the years 2000- 2006 and since 2019 she was and is the Vice-Dean for Science of the JU Faculty of Science.

Since 2016 she has also been working as a therapist at the University Counselling Centre of JU

Her research interests include general psychology (especially motivation and emotions), educational psychology and professional development of teachers. She has been and is a researcher of Czech and international research projects focused mainly on emotional determinants of learning and teaching, on motivational processes in general and school context and on pedagogical psychological issues of teacher training. She is the author or co-author of eighteen monographs and more than 100 Czech and English articles. In 2003 she received the Early Career Award of The Stress and Anxiety Research Society. In 2007, she was awarded a Fulbright Foundation Scholarship and served as a Research Fulbright Scholar at the University of Minnesota. Since 2011, she has served as the Czech Republic's representative on the Board of Educational Affairs of the European Federation of Psychologists' Association, and in 2015-2017 she served on the Executive Board of the European Science Education Research Association. She is a member of the editorial board of the journal Pedagogika and the ESERA Book Series Springer. She is currently a member of the scientific boards of Charles University and MU.

In 2008-2016 she was a member of the Accreditation Commission of the Czech Republic and chaired the permanent working group for Pedagogy, Psychology and Kinanthropology. In the years 2020-2021 she led the analysis of the Education Strategy 2020 and was a member of the expert team preparing the Strategy of Education Policy of the Czech Republic until 2030.

Since 2020 she has been working on the possibilities of transforming the education system within the Eduzměna project.
