Mgr. Vera Kaplicka Yakimova, Ph.D. (born 1983) was born and raised in Bulgaria, where in 2006 she completed her Master's degree in Slavic Studies (Czech language and literature - Bulgarian language and literature) at the Sofia University of St. Kliment Ohridsky. In 2012, she defended her dissertation at the Faculty of Arts of the University of South Bohemia (title: The Wandering of the Literary Canon), in which she deals with the theory of canon formation and its comparative aspects. At the Institute of Czech Studies, he teaches subjects related to comparative literature and literary theory. She also works at the Institute of Arts and Culture, where she lectures on canon formation and film aesthetics.
