The 5th year of the project ‘MY VISION ZERO: STUDENTS FOR SAFE ROADS’ begins

BASIC INFORMATION

The fifth year of the competition "MY VISION ZERO: STUDENTS FOR SAFE ROADS" is intended for students of Czech universities, higher vocational and secondary schools. The competition aims to activate young people to improve the state of the road accident situation in the Czech Republic in accordance with the philosophy of the Swedish Vision Zero.

Students or groups of students submit projects focusing on different areas with the aim of solving traffic problems. The projects can address vehicle and road problems as well as road user behaviour and education.

A number of experts who have long been involved in the subject of road safety are available for guidance and consultation. All you have to do is contact them. For a basic overview, there are also basic documents on the project website that address the issue of road safety. You can also take inspiration from abroad. Links to resources and campaigns can also be found on the project website.

The project is funded by the claims prevention fund of the Czech Insurers' Bureau.

HOW TO DO IT?

  • Think about the topic and build a team. A map of themes for different areas is provided to help you decide. If you cannot choose, try to suggest your own topic. If you are not sure, consult your topic with experts. You can work on the project alone or in a team. The maximum number of members in a project team is 7.
  • Register your project by 31. 3. 2023 at the latest.
  • Get to work and start writing. The experts, the organiser and the competition organiser are at your disposal at all times. A project template has been prepared to make your work easier. Submit your finished project for evaluation no later than 30 April 2023.
  • Win. We are competing for prizes with a total value of CZK 100 000. The winner (whether an individual or a team) will receive a financial prize, which will be paid by the organiser. Specifically, the first-place winner will receive CZK 50,000, the second-place winner will receive CZK 30 000, the third-place winner will receive CZK 15 000, the fourth-place winner will receive CZK 2 500 and the fifth-place winner will receive CZK 2 500. The amounts are given after tax.
  • Please read the evaluation criteria to avoid missing out on points and prizes. You can find their full text here.
  • Be successful and the organiser will help you with the implementation of your project in the form of a START-UP. Implement your project with the support of a range of experts in BESIP, marketing, technical transport, etc. We will help you to prepare an application to obtain funds for the implementation of the project from the claims prevention fund of the Czech Insurers' Bureau.
