About event

Two towns, two languages, one border and a lot of culture - České Budějovice and Passau, towns only 90 km apart as the crow flies and connected since 1993. The first edition of the Film.Kultura Passau & České Budějovice festival aims to bring the current cultural events of the neighbouring country to both young and old audiences. Contemporary films, exhibitions, author readings, theatre performances and concerts offer numerous opportunities for discussion and mutual discovery, across genres and across borders.

The festival is held under the joint auspices of Mayor Jürgen Dupper (Passau) and Mayor Dagmar Škodová Parmová (České Budějovice). The festival is organised by the European Danube-Vltava Region, the Institute of Czech-German Area Studies and German Studies of the Faculty of Arts and the Zweckverband Volkshochschule für Stadt und Landkreis Passau.
