The University of South Bohemia has decided to participate in the Academic Bicycle Challenge ABC 2023 this year again to raise the University’s profile abroad, help promote a healthy lifestyle and to offer you a way of relieving all the winter stress.
The ABC Challenge is an international cycling competition for universities around the world and we will be participating during the whole month of June 2023. It is clear that we cannot do it alone and we urgently need you to participate. Whether you cycle for fun, to work or to stay fit, all trips count and all collected kilometres will boost the overall result of the University.
USB will support not only activities related to environmental protection but also a good cause again! 1 CZK will be donated to charity for each kilometre travelled. The "travelled" amount will be donated to the Autis Centre in České Budějovice which helps people with autism and their families. The more kilometres, the more joy for everyone!
Participation rules
- Mileage is counted from 1 June to 30 June 2023. In case the participant enters the ABC after the start of the ABC, all journeys recorded by Naviki before participation (but after the start of the ABC) are counted.
- The following filters apply for the trip to be counted: average speed ≤ 30 km/h, maximum speed ≤ 50 km/h, length ≤ 150 km.
- All types of bikes are allowed: normal, racing, cargo and electric bikes, scooters, etc.
- Valid rides are counted wherever the bike is ridden. They are not limited to a specific city or region.
- Participants can set up user-created teams. The minimum number of participants for a user created team is 5, the maximum number is 25. Valid recorded rides count towards the team. The earliest you can change team membership is one week before the end of the active period (changing or leaving a team is not possible after the 23rd day of the active month).

I don’t have a bike, what should I do?

At the end of the competition month, the grand champion in the men's and women's categories and the best team will again receive an award according to their mileage. In addition, a cup will also be presented to the best faculty of 2023!
