Lifelong learning

Would you like to learn new disciplines and acquire new skills?

Education for the public

The University of South Bohemia offers not only university education, but also vocational and recreational courses for the general public – lifelong learning (LLP).

The offer also includes the University of the Third Age for those of an advanced age interested in higher education. If you wish to expand your knowledge, skills and qualification, then you have come to the right place.

How to apply for LLP

Take a look at the offer of LLP courses – conditions for admission and fees can be found in the description of the learning programme. You can also use contact personnel at USB faculties.

Why choose LLP?

Our range of courses is continuously expanded and adapted to the participants. Our latest offer includes language courses (Czech language course), a course on “how to build a family tree” and other such interesting topics.

Courses at USB have a long tradition and high quality facilities. Our eight faculties can provide you with a rich and versatile education. The number of participants continues to grow. In 2013 we had over 3,369 participants of which 1,499 studied at the University of the Third Age.

What is the difference compared with standard studies?

An LLP graduate will receive a certificate of completion, rather than an academic degree. You can use the library and the other information services and amenities of the SBU required to study in accordance with the programme.

The LLP can be attended for a fee. Unfortunately we can not offer a subsidized price of meals in our refectory or accommodation at our halls of residence.

The reason is that Act No.117/1995 Coll. on State Social Support does not class Lifelong Learning Programme as a regular university education and systematic preparation for future employment. Therefore participants in LLP are not considered to be a student pursuant to Act No. 111/1998 Coll. on Higher Education Institutions.
