The Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters (FROV JU / FFPW USB) prepared for master degree students a new subject "Marine Aquaculture" (taught in English) which will be led by an experienced marine biologist Dr. Carlos Yanes-Roca.
The results of another year of one of the most prestigious world rankings, “The Times Higher Education World University Rankings”, were published for the year 2021 at the beginning of September of this year. The University of South Bohemia ranked among the best once again. The University ranked in the 801-1000 range out of universities evaluated in 93 countries and thereby the University retained its ranking from the previous year.
On 8th September, 2020 the Rector of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice Prof. Bohumil Jiroušek and the president of the National Taipei University of Technology, Taiwan, Dr. Sea-Fue Wang signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
The University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice will open selected degree programmes for Belarusian students who meet admission conditions. Accepted applicants will receive a scholarship in support of their studies and accommodation in České Budějovice.
After the University of South Bohemia gained the highest possible rating from the Research, Development and Innovation Council of the Government of the Czech Republic (R&D&I Council) in April of this year as the only university established after 1989, another great news has arrived. On Wednesday, June 24, the University also received the best ranking from the prestigious and globally respected ranking of higher education institutions the Times Higher Education (THE) in the context of “young” HEI from the Czech Republic.
Employees and students of the Department of Medical Biology (DMB) and the Institute of Chemistry (ICH) of the Faculty of Science of the USB took part in resolving the critical situation of insufficient capacities for testing for the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and they have tested 3455 samples in the BSL2 laboratories of the DMB since March 28.
The University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice was visited on Wednesday 17. 6. 2020 by the Director of the Department for Science and Technology of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Prague, Mr. Hong-Wei Yen, Ph.D.
On Monday 25. 5. 2020 was held a meeting between the Rector of USB and the Vice-Rector for International Relations of USB with the representatives of the Czech – Middle Asian Chamber of Commerce (ČSOK).
