Two candidates aspire for the post of the Rector of the University of South Bohemia

On 13 November 2015, the Election Commission of the Academic Senate of the University of South Bohemia published the names of candidates for the post of the rector of the University of South Bohemia in České Budejovice for the period from 2016 to 2020.

The proposed candidates are:
prof. RNDr. Libor Grubhoffer, CSc., Faculty of Science
prof. Ing. Miloslav Šoch, CSc., dr.h.c., Faculty of Agriculture

The public presentation of both candidates will be held on Monday, November 23 from 14 pm in the auditorium of JU. The election of the candidate for rector will be held on December 8, 2015 from 14 hours.
The rector of the University of the South Bohemia is elected by the Academic Senate, which has 40 members and gather representatives from all eight faculties. Each faculty is represented in the Senate by three academics and two students.
The election of the candidate for the rector is done by secret ballot. The elections can have a maximum of three rounds. Two candidates with the highest number of votes proceed to the second and third round (in the case of equal number of votes even more candidates). The proposal of the candidate for the post of rector is accepted if absolute majority of all members of the Senate has voted for that candidate.
