Three candidates aspiring for the post of the Rector of the University of South Bohemia

On February 22, 2016, the election committee of the Academic Senate of the University of South Bohemia announced the names of the candidates who had accepted the candidacy in the fourth election for the post of the Rector of JU for the period 2016-2020.

The candidates are:

doc. Tomáš Machula, Ph.D., Th.D., dean of the Faculty of Theology of JU
doc. PhDr. Lubomír Pána, Ph.D., dr.h.c., rector of the College of European and Regional Studies   
doc. Dr. Ing. Dagmar Škodová Parmová, vice rector for International Relations of JU

Presentation of the candidates will be held on Tuesday, March 1st at 14 o´clock in the auditorium of JU. In connection with the reunion of academics and the presentation of the candidates, the Rector of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice announced the Rector´s leave of absence for Tuesday, March 1 from 13 o´clock for students of bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs.

The election of the Rector will take place two days later, on Thursday, March 3 at 14 o´clock.

The first election was held on December 8, 2015 and the candidates were prof. Libor Grubhoffer and prof. Miloslav Šoch. The second election was held on January 12, 2016 and there were three candidates - prof. Václav Bůžek, prof. Libor Grubhoffer and prof. Dalibor Štys. The third election was held on February 8, 2016 with three candidates - prof. Grubhoffer Libor, prof. Pavel Kozák and prof. Miloslav Šoch. In any of the elections none of the candidates has gained the majority of votes, therefore nobody has been elected yet. For this reason, the Academic Senate of JU announced the fourth election.
