The rector of USB and its representatives in Armenia

On Monday 4.11.2019 the rector of the University of South Bohemia doc. Tomáš Machula, Ph.D., Th.D. and the vice-rector for international relations doc. PaedDr. Radka Závodská, Ph.D. went for a three-day visit of ASPU (Armenian State Pedagogical University). They were welcommed by the rector prof. Dr. Ruben Mirzakhanyan and on 6.11.2019 they signed the Memorandum of Understanding.

During their meeting, they discussed the possibilities of cooperation between USB and ASPU, especially in fields of pedagogy, psychology and theology and the rector of USB was awarded the honorary doctorate. The members of the Scientific council of ASPU and other guests were also presented at the ceremony. On Tuesday 5.11. 2019, the delegation from the Czech Republic was given an audience at the main bishop and the spiritual leader of Armenian Apostolic Church Garegin II (Catholicos of all Armenians) in his seat in Etchmiadzin. On 6.11. 2019, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed by both rectors and it was followed by the meeting with the deans of faculties and discussion about the possibilities of cooperation between both institutions, e.g. mutual projects, mobility of students and staff, summer schools etc. Within their working trip to Armenia, the Czech delegation will also visit Judr. Bedřich Kopecký, the ambassador of the Czech Republic in Armenia, who also supports the cooperation of both universities.
