Summer School 2019 Smart Grid

As a part of the project "Smart Grid - Technologies for rural areas and SMEs" the Faculty of Science would like to invite all interested parties to the Summer School 2019 on Smart Grid Systems and Technologies.

The Summer School will be held at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice and will last from 3–4 June 2019 including a social event on Monday, 3rd June 2019. The Summer School is co-located with the IEEE conference “9th International Conference on Advanced Computer Information Technologies (ACIT)” (no fee for students).

The so called Smart Grid is a new intelligent power grid that will be able to cope with increasing power demand, the integration of volatile energy sources as solar or wind into the power mix, and other future challenges. Information and communication technology is used to improve and extend current grid technology. Specifically, the integration of the demand side in power generation planning is an important topic. Technologies like Demand Side Management or Demand/Response-Management help to fit power demand into the current availability of power of the grid.
