Information for Ph.D. applicants

Postgraduate Studies:
The postgraduate Ph.D. courses comprise of 3 years of full-time study and are concluded with a defence of the Doctoral thesis and an oral examination. Each student taking part in a postgraduate doctoral programme is supervised by an academic adviser who helps him/her to prepare a study plan, approves the topics selected for the Doctoral thesis and selects the subjects for the Doctoral Examination. Having successfully defended his/her Doctoral thesis, the student is then awarded the degree of Ph.D.

Foreigners seeking to join programmes taught in Czech may study under the same terms as those applying to citizens of the Czech Republic. Foreigners who wish to join programmes taught in English and/or in German may study as fee-paying students. Those students apply directy to the faculty in which they are interested. Fees digger depending on the faculty and form of study.
